What you are doing for your child is so great! I'm sure she'll thank you one day. It is great to see people incouraging their children to create art. Many people still believe art isn't important and end up crushing their children's dreams. Our parents influence our lives more than they realize.

I just wanted to say something, I found this page while just picking a random deviant, and I think this is really cool what you're doing. I think that some of the work your daughter has done is unpretencious and thought provoking, I know that might sound silly, but children make some of the most expressive and true artists. :)

To insult the art of a 4-year-old, a child who is just building confidence in their artistic skills and sense of self-worth etc. is wrong. I think what she's done on here happens to be very sweet! It's a nice idea to have her art viewed at such a young age, and when she's older she may be able to take over and add her works herself!

I look forward to seeing her progress! ^_^ Keep at it!
~Riavan:iconRiavan: Mar 15, 2005, 4:55:34 AM
Art for arts sake is still art. If her art isnt real art neither is mine...

I create, therefore I am. I create, therefore I am an artist.

wow...i can now understand now why parents feel the need to protect their kids from the world, because how often cruel it is. it was very wrong of me to think that almost everyone would think it atleast "cute," if not give you an applause for allowing your child self-expression in the computer age. with all the real crap that is out there, we can't just appreciate the innocent work of a child!?

Kahlyn that you have a great sense of color (note: "Glitter Paint") and are great at expressing your feelings. I personally think that you should keep coloring and painting and drawing outside the lines for as long as you can, before the world starts telling you not to.

___
The first time I put a camera in my hand, I was 4 years old, sitting on the shoulders of my uncle as we wove through the
crowds at a Carnivale celebration, in the streets of Sao Paolo. I remember thinking, "the colors! the colors! That memory has stayed with me ever since.
~Shiggety:iconShiggety: Mar 14, 2005, 9:44:51 PM
Sure she's cute and all, and I don't disagree with what you're saying here. This is art, no matter how you look at it. However, just because she is different from most here on DeviantART, I don't think she should recieve "special treatment". What I mean by that is you should expect to get mean and differential opinions from people here, everyone should. If there is to be improvement anywhere, it comes from often harsh critique. Keep the art coming, it will definetly turn into something more one day.

Hah! You'd thought i'd have something witty or philosophical to write here! BUT I DON'T... so there.

I agree with ViciousTheKatanaMan. The internet is not a safe place to have personal information floating around. Especially(not to put too fine a point on it) for young children.

Ma'am, I am just wondering, why are you making your child so over-confident?

:| Why are you trying to give her advice on how to raise her child? Why don't you just go worry about yourself? It's not your decision whether Nada decides to put her daughters pictures on this website or not. So just let it go, and put your energy and time into something more useful.

I don't understand why people insist on coming on this page, and insulting it. Really. Don't you have anything better to do than try to insult a 4 year old? Just go worry about yourselves and your art. You all have your opinions, but that doesn't mean go flame others pages over it. It's just immature. Yes Kahlyn is a child like you've all stated, but you're the ones who're acting childish.
~robstr12:iconrobstr12: Feb 24, 2005, 6:55:57 PM
Yes, this is lovely art!
So lovely that the art is judging us!

Please keep up this great artwork, and do make sure that you pay attention to what Mommy says, and learn now at this age to dismiss what lamers say about stuff they don't know.

Once again, great art, pretty to put on my brand new install of debian Sarge!

Yes!

Good art, for a good computer (mine)!

Regards,

Robert

Oh, lordy. She looks like my neice. Jennifer, if this is you...!
Ma'am, I am just wondering, why are you making your child so over-confident? If she grows up to be a pretensious(I can't spell that x_X) fangirl, you do not have anyone to blame but yourself.
It's good to tell your daughter she's an 'artist', she is after all, a child but, Ma'am, please put her pictures on your fridge, not DeviantART.
Thank you.
